Sixty-seven million children worldwide have no access to education and more than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. Rotarians are encouraged to raise awareness of literacy issues and to organize literacy projects at home and abroad. |

We also help strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities. |

Join us for dinner at the Dawson's wonderfully catered by Yvonne to support Polio eradication and Peter's polar bear swim. We are limited to around 40 people so please respond by Dec 5. Tickets are $40 (from Gail Catherwood) with a $25 tax receipt; bring your own wine. A couple of notes- parking is limited so if you can car-pool that would be great and please, no spike heels. Please ignore this if you have already bought a ticket or told us you are coming. |
