Recently, our exchange student from Spain, along with other in-bound Rotary Exchange Students, discovered Algonquin Park in the winter; the essential Canadian winter experience!

ar Rotary,The last weekend I went to Algonquin. I just want to say thank you to all of you, for
me this amazing experience. It was one of my best trips ever. We had lot of fun, learning new things doing new challenges.
The day that we arrived we started crossing the lake. We were very lucky we had a amazing weather and it was very easy to cross. On Saturday we woke up very early, we had breakfast ,and they told us that we were going to go to the forest. They put us into different teams and each person of the team had different roles. The goal was to get up on the mountain , make fire and hot chocolate ,but of course we didn’t achieve it. In the first few minutes we got lost and we never could find the way. We were in the middle of nowhere trying to find the other group. We came back to the camp at night because we couldn’t find the way back but it was so much fun and we had an amazing time . After dinner they cut a hole in the ice on the lake and we had to jump into the water. I can’t say that it was much fun because I was almost crying ,it was freezing outside but I did it.
On the next day we had to do the same but all together. We made a fire and cooked our food over the fire. It was a really good time, we were laughing so much and we had a great time meeting new people. At night we went up into the mountain all together. We all had a candle that they gave to us before the trip. We lit our candles and sat next to a tree by ourself and wrote a letter about ourselves and the the trip. This letter is going to be sent the same day but in one year whatever we are. After writing the letter it was fireworks and it was brilliant.
On Monday we came back. It was very sad to say good bye to all the people that we met this weekend. In just a few days they became family. Thank you so much again for giving me this experience. I will never forget about this. I really appreciate it. The people I met were amazing and this trip will be stuck in my heart forever.
