Brief Bio Notes on our Guest Speaker Scott Marcin, District Governor D7090.

Scott attended High School at West Seneca West, and Undergraduate College at SUNY Buffalo, graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, with a concentration in accounting and finance.  Scott then pursued further education, going to law school at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio, earning his Jurist Doctor degree.
After passing the NY Bar exam, Scott practiced law for several years, before changing careers, and going into financial planning.  Scott has been employed in the financial services industry since 2002, currently working for the Vision Financial Group.
Scott became a member of his current club, the Rotary Club of Amherst South, in 2012, and quickly became involved with the leadership of the club. First being named Club Secretary, then President Elect.  Thereafter, Scott has enjoyed a fairly lengthy run as Club President, when circumstances called. Scott began the Annual Amherst South Bowl-A-Thon which has raised many funds to support the club’s causes.
Although leading a small club, Scott is proud of the many accomplishments that the Amherst South Rotary Club has had over the years, including its support of the Windermere Elementary Schools, it Little Free Library project, participation in several Habitat for Humanity projects, Amherst Youth Bureau Warm Winter Clothing Drive, its several international projects, and its sponsorship and support of the Buffalo State Rotaract Club. He is even more proud to represent the great membership of the Amherst South Rotary Club at the District Level. Scott is a Paul Harris +3 recipent.
On the District Level, Scott has participated in the Leadership Team, assisting with PETS, and then serving  as Chair of PETS. Scott is currently serving as Assistant Governor for Area 11 for one year.
On a personal level, Scott is the husband to the lovely, Amy Trawinski-Marcin, who has been his support for 28 years, and sometime Rotary assistant.  Scott and Amy are parents to twins and recent college graduates, Lukas and Aniela. More importantly, Scott is the parent of a very spoiled dog, Manny. Scott is blessed to have his parents living close by, and they too are sometime Rotary volunteers, mostly willingly.
Scott is avid tennis player and golfer (sometimes even disc golfing), and loves to be out in his kayak.  Scott enjoys his doing crossword puzzles and loves to read, and is especially fond of history books.
