Final report as provided by our RCNS Kettle Drive Coordinator; Joanne Kiefer;
I am happy to report that the Salvation Army met their Kettle Drive Goal (so well coordinated by Doug Montgomery!) of $310,000 with 90% of their possible shifts being filled. Congratulations fellow Rotarians because you helped to make that happen and what better time of year and cause to give your time to. The Kettle Drive would not be successful without clubs like ours stepping forward and assisting in this very worthy endeavour. To put some numbers to our Sunrise efforts, see below. Please note the numbers may vary slightly if I wasn’t aware of all cancelled shifts or shifts done at other locations.
  • 62 volunteer hours at the Simcoe LCBO;
  • 44 volunteer hours at the Port Dover LCBO; and
  • 40 different RCNS individuals participated and 10 were friends of Rotary.
I would like to make special mention of Scott & Heather Furtney of Port Dover who took 5 shifts, Jim Simpson who took 4 shifts and Gail Catherwood who took 4 shifts.  I have no hesitation in saying, RCNS you sleighed it!  Looking forward to working with all of you again next year, there’s snow one quite like you RCNS!
