Jim Lewis gave a very positive picture of the Salvation Army Christmas Campaign for 2013. Over $65,000 was raised in the kettle campaign – that averages $95 per hour of duty. Norfolk Sunrise Rotarians contributed 66 hours for kettle duty and raised $7,000 between the Simcoe and Port Dover LCBO locations.
The Salvation Army also coordinated the Christmas Exchange in 2013, and provided assistance to over 1000 people, over 300 of them children. The Salvation Army assembled and distributed over 300 of the 675 baskets in total distributed through the Christmas Exchange program. Cudos to Simcoe’s Salvation Army and Jim Lewis for leading this community to assist people in need.
