What an evening of club member recognition!
Following the 2021-2022 activity year, it was time to recognize those in our Club who have distinguished themselves - it was a great social moment to welcome our newest members, to recognize our most recent Paul Harris recipients, to induct our new Board for 2022-2023 and to re-appoint President Louise Schebesch into a second term. Moreover, we we're able to recognize several special district leader appointments, including District 7090 Governor Lisa Bishop, from within our own Area!
If that weren't enough fun, we were able to host 10 Rotary visitors from Latvia who were enjoying their exchange visit time in Norfolk County.
Go to the 'Read more ...' tab to read more and/or to see selected photos from each of these events.  Click on this link to see all of the photos of this event as kept on Club Runner.
Thanks to Club Services Gail Bouw for organizing the evening, the Simcoe Legion for the facility, John Wallace who lead us in prayer, Debbie Moffat and her crew who catered the event and Keith Jones who guided us through all of this, as the seasoned emcee that he is.

Rotary Visitors from Latvia
Our visit coordinators Jim Peters and Cathy Harrop welcomed the group of 10 Latvian visitors to Norfolk County and our Club, as special guests of the evening. Jim introduced the Latvian visit coordinator Maija Line, who called on each of the Latvia guests to stand and be recognized. Maija then made several introductory remarks and presented our Club coordinators with several gifts to express their appreciation and to mark the occasion. Well done to Cathy Harrop, as well as to those who stepped up to act as hosts, for making this occasion so special.

New Club Members
Ross Gowan Assistant Governor Coordinator for District 7090, took the podium and explained several ideas related to the importance of welcoming new members. This year, the RCNS has had some success in this imperative and can count ourselves to be fairly successful in attracting several new members; new energy, new ideas, new blood. Membership Chair, Peter Wheatley then presented certificates and welcomed the four most recently recruited members.

Paul Harris Fellows
Bettyann Carty. Introduced and sponsored by Gail Catherwood, Bettyann (with husband Ray in her company) was surprised to learn of her PH award. Gail spoke at length of the many Club initiatives and events that Bettyann has coordinated for us and the community, noting there were few who could match her in the positive effect she was having on those in need in Norfolk.
A very teary-eyed Bettyann, accepted the award, appreciating of all the support she has received from her family and the Club in achieving her accomplishments.
