A great turnout of Sunrise Rotarians this week for the Open House of the Stedman Community Outreach Office in Port Dover. Peter Slaman spoke passionately about the care received by Stedman Hospice when his wife Ronnie needed palliative care recently.

The office at 23 Market Street in Port Dover is the result of a strategic initiative by the Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise to enhance palliative care services in Norfolk. Rotary joined forces with the Port Dover Lions Club to gain the support of St. Joseph's Lifecare to establish the office as a home base for the Stedman Community Outreach Team.

In the photo, flanked by Ross Gowan and Bob Pomeroy, are Peter Slaman and Olga Consorti who is CEO of the St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation which provides financial support to the Stedman Outreach Team.  Rotary and Lions have agreed to cover the office occupancy costs for two years, and are building community support for the project with assistance pledged by other Lions and Rotary Clubs.
