On Tuesday morning, 18 Nov 2025, we welcomed our own Ross & Joyce Gowan as our Guest Speakers. Mary Mercato introduced the Gowans who spoke about their recent 50th Anniversary celebtion cruise along the eastern portion of the Danube River.
In a well-crafted and most informative presentation, the Gowans recounted their visits and experiences in a part of the world that many of us have not had a chance to visit. Along a river route that included the Danube delta, Constanta, Bucharest, Nicopol, Belgrade, Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna, Ross & Joyce provided an excellent travelogue of their great experience.
Noting his earlier UN life in that part of the world, Jim Simpson thanked Ross & Joyce for such a vivid overview of a little understood part of our world. We all congratulated Ross & Joyce on their 50th Anniversary, as they offered a ‘golden’ contribution to our 'Happy Buck' fund.
