Our local trails. popular as they are with the locals, are always in need of constant attention to keep them as appealing/useful as needed. In recent years, we have busied ourselves planting ornamental trees and daffodil beds along our own Sunrise Trail, and have been keen to expand the scope of this good work. Of course, spring is the perfect time to tend to our works.
This past (a beautiful but cold) weekend, Steven Malo and his environmental group carried out the second of several planting & maintenance days planned for this year. At this outing, it was time to do some new tree planting at the start of the Waterford Heritage Trail just north of the 13th Concession Townsend.
Attending to the work, and as shown in the photo, were Alan Plater, Wolf Lindemann. Gail Catherwood, Paul Zorad, John Wallace, Steve Malo, Pam Shantz, Andy Kooistra, Dave Bradshaw, Abe, Dave Douglas, Randy & Andrea Ongena. More photos at the ‘Read more …’ tab. Lots of work, great cookies (thanks again Gail) and much progress on our community trails … a great way for Sunrisers to spend a weekend morning.
